PRODYS introduces BRAVE technology
06-12-2011PRODYS has developed a specific mechanism to adapt and take the most of the available bandwidth on live transmissions over Internet.
This mechanism is called BRAVE™ BitRate Adaptive Video Encoding, and the main features are:
* Advanced Network Analysis. Prior to any video live transmission, BRAVE™ performs an advanced analysis of the network conditions, including packet losses, packet latency and average bandwidth available. This information, together with user information about the kind of video which is going to be transmitted (talking head, static or action video, and other possibilities), is used to select the starting point of the encoding bitrate, buffer size and other variables.
* Dynamic Fine Bitrate Adjustment. Once the video live transmission has started, BRAVE™ is able to perform fine adjustments on the bitrate in order to circumvent changes on the bandwidth available that might cause pixelation or other artifacts on the decoded image. During this process, BRAVE™ always gives preference for the audio information over video information, in order to maximize the quality of experience in the transmission.
* Bonding Channel Optimization. When using wireless bonding for live transmission, BRAVE™ individually analyses every wireless channel in order to load balance the information packets to every channel and then optimize the video and audio quality according to the available resources.
