The Mighty Mini
Question : what does Scarlett Johansson’s T-shirt, Daru Jones’ kick drum and the Dalai Lama’s cheek have in common?
Answer : the mighty DPA Omni Miniature Capsule.
The DPA Omni Mini is used in a lot of DPA products, including the lavalier d:screet 4060-4061-4062, the 4066 and d:fine headsets, the 4091 (as used for measuring PA systems), etc.
The reason why is simple, this capsule has a near perfect frequency response, and offers a perfect omnidirectional pickup pattern. Thanks to DPA’s pre-aging process, this high-voltage electret element offers a good mix of low noise and high SPL handling, which can be optimized by choosing the right version for the job.
4060: Sensitivity 20mV/Pa, max 134dB SPL
4061: Sensitivity 6mV/Pa, max 144dB SPL
4062: Sensitivity 1mV/Pa, max 154dB SPL
Every DPA microphone is tuned by using acoustic corrections only, no electronic filtering is used, which guarantees a very flat phase response.
New lavalier clip
The SCM0013-B is DPA’s new lavalier clip. It allows 4 different positions to place your d:screet 4060/61/62/63, d:screet slim or 4071. It’s not compatible with the heavy-duty versions.
