First d&b CCL installation in Munttheater

Cardioid dispersion, now also for intimite theaters

The Munttheater in Weert is the first venue in the Benelux to put a permanent d&b audiotechnik CCL sound system into operation. Thanks to the support of the municipality of Weert and in collaboration with consultancy Share Knowledge Now and Amptec, a solution has been realized that perfectly meets the needs and challenging acoustics of the hall.



“The CCL series (Compact Cardioid Line Array) is unique because of its compact, passive, and cardioid design,”

says Sjoerd Terpstra, Sales Manager at Amptec.


“This ensures that sound is directed towards the audience, while unwanted energy behind the speakers is greatly reduced.” Previously, this was only possible for larger applications. To bring cardioid directivity and performance into more intimate spaces, d&b redesigned the patented concept of the renowned SL series.




“Our audience now enjoys a clearer and warmer sound, perfectly suited to the intimate atmosphere of our venue,”

says Rob van Nieuw Amerongen, head of technology at the Munttheater.
