CINEMATEK
|
The Royal Belgian Cinematheque, a public utility foundation, was founded in 1938. The major tasks of this federal but at the same time bicultural institution are to conserve film collections with special interest for the general public (aesthetically, technically or historically ), to enlarge the documentation on cinematographic arts and to ensure the possibility for the general public to consult these films and documents.
When the old film museum was renewed and changed name, part of the works was equipping it with a modern multimedia installation for which Amptec was chosen to devise a creative solution for the audio. What Amptec did: first of all, the large cinema room was equipped with 2 d&b E8s and a Yamaha mixing console; secondly, 4 E0s were installed in the multimedia space. For the large cinema room, we designed a Yamaha DME routing system, whereas the patching in the smaller cinema room was done with Amptec house-made panels and connectors. Amptec took care of made-to-measure audio solutions in a small projection space and on the new consoles where the public can consult parts of the archive. In January 2009, the opening of the completely renewed film museum was celebrated.
